Setting Up Yahoo Mail with yey.email
Step 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (Required)
Go to Yahoo Account Security
Sign in to your Yahoo account if prompted
Find "Two-step verification" and click "Turn on"
Follow the prompts to set up 2FA with your phone number or authenticator app
Complete the verification process
Step 2: Generate App Password
Stay on the Yahoo Account Security page
Look for "App passwords" section
Click "Generate app password"
Select "Mail" from the app dropdown
Enter "YEY email" as the app name
Click "Generate password"
Copy the password that appears (it will be a long string of characters)
Step 3: Connect Yahoo to yey.email
Navigate to yey.email Inbox Settings
Click the "Yahoo" button in the "Add Email Account" section
Enter your full Yahoo email address (e.g.,
[email protected])Paste the app password you generated in Step 2
Click "Add Account" to connect
Step 4: Set Up Encryption (Optional but Recommended)
Go to your yey.email Dashboard
Click "Generate Encryption Keys" if you haven't already
Copy your public key address
Share your email address and public key with contacts who want to send you encrypted emails
